Front Wheel Arch Liners

Post by TomK » Tue Feb 25, 2020 3:36 pm

Can anyone who has replaced theirs share some insight here please?
Real OEM lists the M specific part different to the 3.0 version. I really can't see why, they look identical in the parts diagram.
An ebay listing says the 3.0 part number one will fit the M, but I'm not so inclined to trust that. Of course the M 'version' is considerably more expensive from what I can gather, standard

Doesn't the M part have additional ducting for the brake cooling ducts on the front spoiler?

I think that's Item 5 in the diagrams above?

I certainly can't see a difference between those two exploded diagrams, if they are indeed different. I did have two E85s in my garage until three days ago, so could've given you a definitive answer!

Non-M fits M, you just need to cut away a small section at the bottom where it fouls the reinforcement plate. There are guide lines on the part you can follow to make the required modification.
2008 Z4MC: heavy wheels | crap suspension | skittish rear end | wobbly engine | not enough induction noise | underwhelming turn in | inconsistent braking | lardy battery | chubby steering wheel

Correct, but that's not a part included in the arch part (if that makes sense!) I believe(?), it replaces part 5 as wonkeydonkey says, part 18 below. Maybe it is and that explains the big price difference, but I don't think so. The ducts are like £25 a side or so iirc anyway.

On the subject of brake cooling, how's your kit getting on Tom? Any issues or still good?

No issues with it, however I have suffered another cracked disc since fitting :( . The disc was badly crazed though beforehand so I think it unfair to say it is not working. I've gone a bit nuclear on it now and moved up to 368x36mm and the pro5000r caliper as I'm sick of replacing them!

Wow, that's a serious bit of kit there, don't even want to ask how much that little lot cost! Good luck with it mate, might see you out and about at some tracks come summer
