Aha, result. That actually looks pretty close to stock.

Found this pic from the TMS site of a similar/same H&R perch -

Yes, those are the ones we found. The only thing you could see below the lower wishbone was the hex head and most of the thread!

Now it's just the hex head and the circlip.

I'm hoping to keep them fitted now it's riding higher, as the previous owner paid over £1,000 for the full kit including dampers last September so it's virtually new!

Drop it back down, Iain, it looked awesome. Never mind your spinal column.

It wasn't my spinal column I was worried about - it doesn't ride any softer when it's higher!

It was the front undertray, wheel-arch liners and exhaust I wanted to save.

Did you get there in time? My undertray took a bit of a beating when lowered as well - had to patch it up.

If the rear is adjustable via an allen wrench from below, then that's quite a neat design. Mine have an adjustable top perch but it won't budge with the spring under load so you need to unbolt the rear control arm (!) to change height.

No and yes! The front undertray has a chunk missing, but although the front arch liners are rubbed I got them before they went right through!

It might be possible to adjust the rear with an allen wrench, but with the spring under load I'm not sure it would work. Ross popped the springs out to adjust them.

I was really shocked at the exhaust hanger missing. :o

It just shows that you never really know what is happening in areas that you can't easily see for sure.

Yes, I was too! Why would you remove it? :headbang:

Still the back-boxes are PowerFlow ones so at least they sound good - just need to stop one of them from falling off now!

Does it now clear the plethora of speed bumps in your area? :?

Normally if you jack it up its enough to adjust the spring platforms assuming the threads are fairly clean and lubed. More for future forum use as it's a bit late now :?

Are the wheels 18” or 19” ?

I have 19’s with Eibach and H&R springs only, I live in Romford Essex with plenty of speed bumps and only just about catch what I assume is the undertray on only the highest bumps.

My wheels are 19s, and I got to test it over speed bumps for the first time today. There is a 20 mph limit with half a dozen bumps in the middle of my mate's village and it cleared them all in both directions, so it looks like the coil-overs will be staying on!

A bit off-topic but I'm sure Rob would be interested! I went round to see mate's latest motorbike acquisitions, a Honda TL125 we rode round his garden and a 1971 Yamaha YR5 that we both had a short ride on around where he lives. That took me back so many years to when I had my RD350. He's also bought a Yamaha Serow, but hasn't picked it up yet.

Mr Tidy's MC Thread - A Less Bumpy Ride now!

Well it's time for the next instalment!

I bought the headlamp washers "parabolica" was selling, and went to see Ross at RBM this morning.

I knew there were no diamond clips with them, and one of them had a broken clip that holds the diamond clip in place, and sure enough that's the one I needed. Still Ross managed to use the jet from my leaky one which had the clips intact and put a new seal on it. So after a bit of faffing around I didn't need the new one from BMW and can now have working washers all round! Although I think the fuse for the headlamp ones might be coming out soon.

But one of the clips on the cap has a bit missing, so now I need to get a new cap that'll need painting. :(

Anyway thanks to parabolica, and also to Ross.

In the unlikely event anyone has a spare headlamp washer cover lying around (ideally in silver grey) please let me know!

Just unplug the 2nd pump on the washer bottle (Electrical Connection) and they will stop working and causes no faults.

I had to replace mine on my Z4C as the bodyshop snapped the tabs off!
