Still comes down to the driving experience if you ask me , noise feel communication so what if you’ve got 500bhp if there’s no soul to what your driving which is so true of many new cars I’d take the Z4m any day without too many driver assists and piped in engine sounds 😬

Spent quite a lot of time on YouTube as a result of this thread...

That's what I imagine it's like riding to the shops with Ed Doe in his track beast.

Yep. I loved the first N55 I tried in an F10 535i auto. Great for that, but dull for me in a sports car. The S55 revs a bit better but doesnt sound great at all. The turbo sixes in the 991.2 sound good and rev'd well, once you got used to the lag.

That was what I really loved about my Cerbera 4.5. No driving aids and it made an awesome noise, the E92 M3 I had after it was almost boring to drive in comparison. It was too quiet and it had a load of daft traction aids on it.

My Z4M felt special with it only having 2 seats, but even that was too quiet for me because the TVR had spoilt me so much in that regard. The Z4M is very analogue compared to new cars now though for sure. 8)

That “little car” is the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale!

It is one of the first supercars and the current excellent Alfa Romeo 4C is modelled on it. At the time ‘67 - ‘69 it was the fastest road going car available. A focus RS is probably faster these days, but this was a defining car and still is today.

Believe it or not, I was not able to learn the specific output of the engine in that car without also picking up the name of the car itself. :)

I used to have a TVR Tuscan and had sleeved the rear silencers with two lengths of stainless tube.
I have just fitted the ROI back boxes to the ZMR and it sounds every bit as loud, perhaps even a little more around town, but get it above 4K and it is fantastic
