After coming round from the shock of finding out how much BMW OEM ‘M’ badges are for the sides and boot of the Z (£46 each of you’re interested), I went on the ‘Bay and ordered two 73mm - for the sides - and one 82mm - for the boot lid. Arrived today, and they are really nicely made, and at least 20% of the price of the OEM ones!!

Thought it worth a share 😁 you’re welcome.

So these have all arrived now, and I’m really happy with them. They come with pre-fixed and cut to shape foam tape for ease of attachment. I have the car booked in for a big detail in a couple of weeks, where they’ll be swapping them over... so I’ll grab some before and after pics for anyone who’s interested :)

Quite like the old school enamel look. I was given these to try out, a slightly different take on the same thing, but not sure I’m a fan -

tomscott, yeah, so you’ve got ~73mm for the wings, and 82mm for the bootlid. Covers on the car right now, but I’ll take some side by side shots at the weekend 👍

MrPT, they’re an interesting take, I guess they stick over the faded sections on the originals?

Yeah they are "prototype" 3D badges from a place that used to sell replacements for the normal stickers. I'd remove the originals beforehand, though - a bit of a messy job. Replacing the whole badge, as you are doing, is probably more straightforward.

Nice! I realise these are not quite “right” as they have chrome between the colours, but they have a genuinely good quality look and feel. And I think to the untrained eye, they are so much more worth it than the £46 each for the genuine ones 😂

I think I actually prefer the thin chrome strip dividing the colours.

To be fair, I agree... they’ve got a high quality look, but also slightly retro. I won’t be buying any more badges or M’s for the car though 😂 don’t like to see them plastered in them 😆
