Farewell to my Z4M Coupe

Post by Optinium » Thu Aug 01, 2019 12:03 am

A year ago I purchased a BMW Z4M Coupe in SilverGrey.
The year with it has been amazing, I've put around 3.5k miles on it and loved every moment, the only complaint is the fuel economy, everything else has been spot on.

However the opportunity came up to trade into something I have been lusting after and I couldn't resist...
So I took a very spirited long drive early very early in the morning to go and pick something up...

I was sad to hand the Z4M over, but the V6S F-Type is sooo good :3
I'm thinking of maybe aiming to pick up a high miler Z4M Roadster in a year or so to go alongside the F-Type as I really do like them :D
Did I do bad?

Haha!

What sprt of MPG was you getting? My app tells me I got a combined 24.8 on my Z4MC.

Nice Jag too, good looking cars. The V8s sound really good to my ear... Inside it must feel so much newer and modern than the Z4M!

I can understand the appeal - the F-Type just looks so good!

But an MR to go with it also sounds like a great idea.

I'm sure you'd have been sad to see the Z4MC go, but an F-Type Jaguar is a beautiful looking coupe.

It's a completely different drive to the Z4M which is far more raw. I test drove an F-Type V6S not long ago and despite the stunning looks I was a bit disappointed in the interior, tiny rear boot, and infotainment system. I ended up buying an F82 M4 instead which is bonkers fast  but I was able to keep my Z4MC as I have the garage space and no kids! :P

I think you'll really enjoy the F-Type as a beautiful looking, more modern and comfortable daily driver but will miss the rawness of the Z4M so a Z4MR as a future addition would make a lot of sense..

@Markos I was getting 19-21 mpg in the coupe on V-Power, not even in sport mode.

@Nickw6666 M4 and M2 were on my list too, test drove both (an DCT M4 in yellow and a blue manual M2) both were great, M4 was indeed fast but even so, for me didn't feel as raw as the Jag (a lot of that was to do with noise). You're right, the infotainment does lack a bit, but the stuff in the Z4MC did also, so the Jag is an upgrade in that sense, as long as it has bluetooth media mirroring then I'm grand :D Then again I don't really use the infotainment in these types of cars :)
