Ouch! I had a couple the size of Bambi's dad run out in front of me on a drive earlier this year. Fortunately the bakes work well and they were smart enough to veer away a bit but it was a close shave :?

I’d be tempted to look at what’s actually needed for the repair to be honest before getting the insurance involved. Is it worth your excess and future loss of no claims premium hikes ?

Oh deer! :exitright:

I'd check it over before calling insurers - on the face of it a pair of kidneys is all you seem to need. But is the radiator damaged on the right as looked at in your photo? But if total costs don't look likely to exceed your excess why bother telling them?

I believe you need a licence to trade in game - maybe the forum needs to apply for one!

Here is my offering from 2014:-

After the pressure washing we have a small bonnet dent, 1 damaged kidney, lower grille damage, under tray hanging loose ( not sure how bad) and an antler penetrating the bumper.
I think it would be insurance at this point ??

I was driving along a country lane in Devon a year or so ago and came face to face with a stag that stood taller than the roof of my RS4. It was fortunate that he ran up a bank to the side of the road because stopping from speed without hitting him was not an option by the time I saw him. I suspect neither of us would have faired well in that impact...

Argh, tough luck but glad it wasn’t more serious.

I think you’ll be well into the realm of insurance with that bonnet dent. They don’t repair easily, don’t come up second hand much and cost a fortune new.

Yes, the dent is not big but where it is and the very gentle crease below it could mean a new one is required so an insurance requirement for sure 😪
I will let you know the numbers when I find out

Good news that it's fixed

Critters can really cause damage, I had my beloved Alfa-Sud wrecked by a Badger many years ago, they are SOLID! (Badgers, not Alfas) but things could always have been worse ...... "Falling bear lands on police car, causing it to burst into flames"
