First interior mod, new gear knob.

Post by sepang41 » Fri Jun 07, 2019 2:36 pm

Thought i'd post some pics up of my first interior mod. Went for the M5 F10 option so it still lights up. Was a bit of a faff to rework the leather gaiter to fit the the old halo, but really pleased with the end results. The new one weighs about 80g more and definitely shifts a lot nicer now.

Great upgrade, the nappa leather also looks much nicer on the Gaitor.

Good job. Not easy to get the leather trimmed and fitting well.

Nice job, looks great! I think that's the first one I've seen where the M5 boot was retained, and it looks great.

When I bought my second Z4MC last fall it already had either this knob or a ZHP knob modded to light up - not sure which. Also has a LeatherZ boot w/M stitching. Thank you previous owner, nice upgrades.

Just took my time with it really. I used a staple gun to get it nicely centred on the frame and then finished it with contact adhesive. The trickiest bit is the top sides where seams are, i used a small rubber mallet to slightly flatten the stitching which made it more pliable to get a good tight fit.
