The most desirable M colour ranking...
So, was chatting with a mate who is keen to buy back into a E46 M3 and ideally wants a Laguna Seca Blue car.....but the cost of these have skyrocketed and one in this colour would cost maybe £5k more than an equivalent black or grey colour car. So, we got onto the most desirable Z4M colours and, other than white, I'm not sure the current market says what colour demands more money.....so what do we think the ranking of the most desirable list of M colours on the roadster and coupe....*all things being equal, purely only the colour is different.
To my mind it goes like the below...and how much extra would I pay for an Alpine White car....probably £3k more, maybe
1 Alpine White
2 Sepang Bronze
3 Imola Red
4 Silver Grey
5 Interlagos Blue
6 Ruby Black
7 Phoenix Yellow
8 Space Grey
9 Monaco Blue
10 Carbon Black
11 Midnight Blue
12 Black Sapphire
13 Titanium Silver

Phoenixyellow is afaik an individual color.
Individuals are always worth more imho.
Next are the /m only colors imho, so interlagosblue, imolarot, sepang and ruby black.
Then come the less abundant normal colours like nachtblau, monacoblue, carbon black and white,
And then the colours that were sold the most: the grey's/silvers and sapphireblack
But it probably mostle depends on who the customer is. Is it a car/z4 noob, they'll usually go for the mainstream colours like grey, black and white, but the enthausiasts can pay more if they want a more rare colour

Interesting, but I just don't like White cars.
My top 3 would be Imola Red, Interlagos Blue and Sepang Bronze in that order.

Not fussed on imola or white. Sepang Bronze looks lovely but I've never seen one in the metal, then it's silver/grey for me.
Z4MC, Silver/Grey, Imola Red Leather, Sat Nav, Heated Seats, DSP, Intravee, Stubby, ZHP, Gruppe M, CDV, Bilstein B12's, Vibra-Technics engine mounts.

Imola cars were the cheapest a while back, they seem to have come into favour now .
Tit silver have always been on the low side too
Personally I like grey, Phoenix , imola in no particular order
All the different “shades” of black is a bit daft and the blues that Bmw offer shouldn’t even be on the list imho

Agree on the black but whoooa there on the blue inty is a class colour & midnight blue is in my top 3 Z colours , monaco another great shade .
As for the original question , for ZMs in desirability , Sepang can be nice but only when clean & detailed otherwise its a drab act Imola i didn't crave , i enjoyed owning it after getting used to it but it wouldn't make my top 5
Phoenix or space grey would be my top 2 choices so i guess desirability is all in the eye of the purchaser

Space grey is lovely. Rare too - I think there were only 2 registered in the UK. Not that anyone but an enthusiast would even know that, let alone spot one a dealer has incorrectly labelled silver grey...mr wilks wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 8:48 amAgree on the black but whoooa there on the blue inty is a class colour & midnight blue is in my top 3 Z colours , monaco another great shade .

Yep space is a rare option , noticeable immediately you stand in front of it but hard sometimes to tell on pics.Bing wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 1:52 pmSpace grey is lovely. I don't care for the Imola. Although a popular choice on here. I always think only Ferrari can do red.
I do love my silver-grey but if I knew what at know now I would have held out for the Stratus Grey as my number one. Then Midnight Blue followed by Sepang Bronze.
Would never have a Titanium Silver but it does show off the lines of the Z really well.
