Yup exactly. The monotube dampers that Bilstein usually use are much higher spec than most OEM shocks, certainly far superior to the stock Monroes. Whether you like the individual fitment is another issue.

This doesn’t really concern the Bilstein B6 as it’s simply a yellow painted non adjustable damper.

Also, having had experience of Bilstein, KW, Ohlins and Nitron adjustable suspension, with regards to corrosion in daily use etc. I’d say the Nitrons were the best and all of them still require a level of user upkeep to maintain correct functionality.

Standard Z4MC Discs & Shockers

A friend who worked as a senior chassis consultant for BMW (and Lotus, Ford amongst others) and worked on the Z3M, E46 M3 and E39 M5 would beg to differ. Being able to work with such high quality suppliers such as Bilstein was a privilege according to him and very rare in the automotive field.

He was reluctant to work with BMW later on, as he was getting fed up of having to engineer in a 'sporty ride', for no dynamic benefit.

Anyway, it's all opinion, go with what you like. :driving:

Are there any drawings of where all the bushes are located? Or are there kits available? I'm thinking of treating my '06 roadster.

I used them for my discs - you should be amazed by the improvement when fitted. The smoothness has returned to my car now that the balance has been returned. The discs are big lumps of metal and mine hadn't worn evenly.

So ahead of booking the car in for the discs and pads fitting and the suspension replacing I have been advised to replace the following:

Front wishbone bushes - £125 set
Front anti-rollbar bushes - £37 set
Engine mounts - £272 both

Advice was from manufacturer so really just looking to qualify before purchase - thanks in advance
