I am sure it's been asked a thousand times, although I am in Jersey CI, need a service for an M, do you all go to BMW dealers or feel it doesn't matter, mine is 12 years old with 25k on the clock

I think you will find most use an Indy these days. Main dealers really aren’t interested or know how to look after these cars now. Just look at the online bmw service pricing, they can’t even get that right.

If you can find a good independent who knows the engine. They will be half the price and do a better job that most main dealers. :) Often worth asking on here if any one can recommend one near you.

Maybe it depends on what service is due. An oil change isn't a specialist job imo, an inspection service is a indy job though.

Wow 25k - is it a roadster or a coupe?

I use an independent - he did my last inspection II with valve clearance report for less than £500

With a 50mph max speed & no motorways, most CI cars have very few miles

Can you import these cars back into the UK easily enough?

If it started its life in the CI, then you have to pay HMRC 20% for the VAT

The DVLA have the necessary forms, reasonably straightforward
