I saw Joel's video on your carr Andy! Flipping heck, it's a bit of a mental beast you've got. I'm going to let Joel film with my E85 Z4M pretty soon as well.
On topic, I've often wondered about using the CSL intake, but prices seemeye watering at best, bend over with no lube at worst!

Thanks. I love my Z. I've owned it since new for 12 years now and still don't want to get rid of it!
Not sure if serious? The sound from the CSL intake could never be classed as a "boring drone". Well not by anyone with an ounce of petrol in their veins anyway!

Yep I’m serious I’m afraid sixspeed... I just don’t like the metallic induction noise on these intakes. Standard is fine for me but there’s not enough exhaust, so I’ve just bought a pair of back boxes of Andy Wilkes to stir the pot a bit....sixspeed wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 5:47 pmThanks. I love my Z. I can kind of get your drift, in the sense that the stock airbox is good enough and at times a CSL style carbon airbox could become “over-powering” (as opposed to your “drone” comment).john-e89 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 5:59 pmYep I’m serious I’m afraid sixspeed... Nevertheless if prices were the same for both boxes I would pick the carbon box everytime.

Don't ever drive a McLaren F1 then. They sound very similar inside.

Only ever sat in an F1, never been lucky enough to have been a passenger/driver.
Many years ago I got the chance to do some passenger laps in a BMW M1 at a classic race meet.
BEJEEZUS was it loud - and that was with a helmet on!
There's no way I could have done more than the 3 laps I did without going deaf - but I assume the drivers will have custom-moulded earplugs to protect their ears (usually with audio in for their comms).
The only other car that came close to making my ears bleed - in a different way - was a Mosler MT900.

Reminded me of this classic evo test, I've probably watched it 10 times over the years...Ed Doe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 11:16 amYes!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb03dK0nBf0

I didn't even need to click the link to know which video that was - I'm the same, watched that many times. Another one from that test I've grown to love is the Carrera GT - wow that thing sounds good!RedUn wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 6:39 pm Reminded me of this classic evo test, I've probably watched it 10 times over the years...

One thing's for sure, they don't make em like they used to (with possibly the notable exception of the GMA T.50 but we'll see that in due course!)
