Driver weight loss? Sadly Nil. :(

Car weight loss.. a lot.. and a bit more to come.

Crusty, yep, adds a lot of rigidity, but replacement of it by a full or half cage makes up for a bit. They are, mk4 nav comp, entertainment system(tv etc), and amp. in no particular order.

Lol I hear ya Philbo, CF 2x2 twill enroute, finally got posted a few days ago.

Impressive cranking amps! I bought a 480CCA Lithium battery (1kg) but it's not man enough to turn the starter.

Impressive commitment! And love the attention to detail and quality!

Once you're done it would be awesome to do a comparison with a regular z4m or very slightly modded to see how all this adds up in terms of performance. Although assume the feeling it gives you can't be measured!

Can recommend one of these. Been running it on the road with my 3.2 for a couple of months so should be fine for yours. 2kgs - 630CCA

added bonus is that the bracket fits nicely to the existing fittings for the amp brackets, though maybe you won't want to mount it on the bulkhead for your race car. Hopefully it's slim enough so I should be able to put your 3.0 trim back in to give me a decent shape boot :)

It's curing atm, I learned a few things about dry carbon layups and very easy to work with compared to fiberglass. Sorry about the many pics, thought they could tell the story better than me dribbling on about some rubbish.

Estimating this to be extremely light.

A few updates apart. Whole car is now stripped. 2/5ths of the bulkhead removed as I wanted to keep the OEM stiffness. Roll cage installed. Lots more stuff to be stripped.. wiring loom is next and I sure as s**t am NOT looking forwards to that.

Cage finished, just needs wire brush and primer/paint.

And just in time for Halloween...

So things have been developing a bit lately, most predominantly the box arrived.

A bunch more parts in the box.

This was during welding ,Car looks like a bombs exploded in it. lol

Those with a keen eye will note the ommisions from the cage. X missing from the roof, and X from the rear brace. Ommited due weight and not being a race car, only a track car. Cage adds quite a bit of weight which isn't the objective.

Completely off subject, do you have any decent pics of your CSL's, and a paint code?
