Agreed the torsional bulkhead makes for most of the stiffness, however looking at it its clearly not as light as it could be ultimately, while still doing its job.
But yes if I’d make a reversable mod car I’d stay clear of it!

Wow, what did she have for dinner? Some serious emissions.

Vanne dunno if you missed it but can you let me know what shifter kit you're running? Looks epic!

Gday Ed,

Yeah did see it, and thought id responded.. lol

anyways, this particular ultra shifter was made for me by the factory that makes the parts for CAE for their ultra shifter. They extensively modified the stick and the working of it to fit in my Z4m, (custom for my car) No lockout required, no return spring required. Anyways, they are for sale at places on the net, though not modified like mine. Its one of my favorite mods.
The DSSR was also totally custom built for my car by the guys at Octane Motorsport in Dubai. The base shifter from memory was 500 Euros before adding the modifications. Your probably better/cheaper off with a CAE. I waited over 8 months for mine.

Guys, not sure if any of you are interested in racing door skins for the Z4? there a thread going on across the pond, about development of new carbon fibre racing door skins.. if you have any ideas/thoughts, please join the discussion.

https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1567197

Still going ahead with my own skins too at this stage.

Been a bit, and there has been some good process on the door skins. Initially sourcing CF was a real disappointment as it was very costly. Over 500 us just for 2 sections of 90cm x50cm

The other issue is that our doors are not flat, so offsets will have to be put in place. Initially I wanted to make this cosmetically very OEM looking, but came to the conclusion that the first and foremost it must be functional and it must be light.

I've nearly finished my mark I design and I am pretty happy with it. It took quite a long time to shape as the arm rest side isn't completely straight with the window rubber.

Only the offsets to be put in place to go. And the door handle/strap to be sorted.

Pictures to come when the kids get off my phone.. :driving:
