Z4m Winter Wheels/ Tyres

Post by Christian1000 » Sat Dec 01, 2018 3:08 pm

Seasonal themed question, appreciate this may have been asked a few times, but from some scanning through threads I’m still not sure.

I’m thinking about getting a set of winters for the M as I expect the MPSS that it’s come on when I bought it are going to be shocking when the weather gets freezing, and unfortunately I’m going to need to use the Z when the wife takes the other car to work.
Been looking online and seen quite a few sets of these style 290

I think I might be ok from an offset point of view. But will 17” rims fit on an M? I’ve seen threads saying they will, and threads saying they won’t.

The obvious answer is a set of M wheels but they seem to be thin on the ground/ expensive. Anybody had any success with alternative wheels?

I fitted a set of 17s to a previous ZMR many years ago , for no other reason than to see if they would :P & they fit without issue .
They were "Momo arrows" & from memory they were 4 x 8j et 30 & i don't recall needing spacers .
Those style290 above are same width & offset so should fit no bother

I’m surprised 17” wheels cleared the OEM callipers, I’d always thought 18” was the minimum needed.

Perfect thanks for the replies. Seems like I should be all good in theory :)

Just need to decide if I go for this type of set, or wait and see if some 18” come up.
