Wired oil question
Probably being paranoid but I've had my Z4MR for 6 months now and haven't had to put in any oil yet. Admittedly the dip stick is fiendishly difficult to determine the level but the colour of the oil is still amber and no obvious leaks or tell take patches on the drive. Am I just lucky?

Nah not lucky. These engines are pretty good on the oil. Tell tale patches on the floor are more likely to come from perished input/output seals on the diff

Not had to put any in inbetween 7,000 mile oil services...and that’s over 150,000 miles.
My e34 M5s used anywhere from 1L per 4,000 miles to 1L per 1,000 miles

Comforting to know guys thanks. I guess the low oil warning light comes on with a bit of notice. If it does how much oil would I need to put in? Had a 2.0 before which had the digital display and whilst I thought at the time it was a gimmick it was easier than the dip stick
