Long shot finding PO

Post by _LarryM_ » Sat Oct 20, 2018 4:49 am

Hi I just bought a z4m roadster and I'm trying to find the previous owner that cared for it. The guy I bought it from only had it for 6 months. It's a 2007 imola red exterior with black Napa extended leather interior with no nav, manual seats, and no hardtop prep. It only had one other identical car with those options made and they were made on the same day. The VIN is 5umbt93517ly52910. I didn't really care about finding the PO even after noticing the shorter BMW shift knob that's the common replacement until I also noticed that it had coilovers. Now I kinda wanna know everything that owner did to it like the clutch delay valve and stuff. I know this is really a long shot but Google wasn't any help to me and maybe if the owner cared that much they own another M right now and visit the forums. I can post pics if you want them.

Where are you from, guessing states as it’s not a UK car with manual seats and no hardtop prep.

US adverts with left hand drive, pictured on Florida plate PEO38R (I think you can run an owner check for a small fee, unless its your plate of course :) )

Great colour

The VIN (LY52910) says it's a September 2006 US car.

Z-Post forum may provide better results than here, as even though we are quite a helpful bunch, there's not a lot of non-UK cars on here.

There was one really “famous” imola with extended leather and that was LHD. Loads of the pics you’ll find via google images etc came from it.

The PO doing the mods apparently did more than I thought. I have the extended leather but the lower console is metal not leather like it should be.

Edit: I saw that florida listing with the vin when I was googling. I called the place and they couldn't provide info on where they got it from.
