Original Cover (now on)

Post by Popey » Mon Oct 15, 2018 3:05 pm

I managed to pick up a genuine cover a few months ago. Just got round to putting it on. I got it £30, brand new in packaging with part number.

Great fit as would expect but not sure having the badge on it attracts to much attention (daft as it sounds).

I have attached some pictures I think

Ps garage is currently too small.

That will certainly keep the rain off. Keep an eye that it does not ripple in the wind and chafe your paint work.

How stupid is it that they built Garages too small to fit a Zed sized car in. Not like it is a Range Rover.

I’m very wary of car covers, a friend needed a full respray of his TVR after the cover chaffed the paintwork down to the bare shell at the edges. Expensive lesson to learn.

Yes, but you only have to look at a TVR for something or other to fall off/fail.

I've had one of those covers for 2 years, used it full year round and no issues with scratches.
Just make sure you wash the car and a quick going over with a detail wax before the cover goes on and you'll be fine!

I use one made by Covercar - I think they make the BMW ones, It leaks slightly at the seams, but keeps 99% of the damp and dirt off. Over a 5 year period I would say ity has dulled the paint slightly, but a quick polish and reseal would fix that. Haven't bothered, waiting till I get somewhere with a garage.

Mine was under a tailored cover last winter with no problems at all.
