Vanne wrote: Tue Oct 16, 2018 5:09 pm Nice car, love the cage.

Thats a left hand drive car? have you looked into what it will take to make it right hand drive? have you checked the aus import details for importing/road rego'ing a LHD car thats younger than 15 years?

There are pagers and pages of design criteria to go through for if your making this a RHD car for oz, (basically you won't be going anywhere on the road in that car if you keep it LHD. ) that would make it a track only car, which you'll need to trailer it to the track.

not telling you what to do, but thats pretty much the gist of it, and the other thing, being a ex racing car, does the chassis even have a compliance plate?

anyways, love the cage, and id recon that will make a really sweet track car. Unless of course you know something that i don't, in which case please tell me as i am going through the same s**t atm... :(
Hi Vanne,

I do plan to convert to RHD with a custom rack mounted to the cage but this is a personal choice not to conform to Aus regs. This probably wont apply to you unless you are lucky enough to live in Tassie. I will be importing it as a race car. In Tasmania you can register a track car if it has a CAMS logbook on special interest plates. This allows you to drive the car on the road 50 times a year but you have to keep a logbook. This works for me as I mostly just drive to events with the occasional blast on twisty roads. It will need to pass a pit inspection ignoring the roll cage, race seats etc. Below is the car I am using until the Z4 arrives it's a 2002 fully caged and as you can see it has a SI plate (Special Interest). Hope this helps but may not depending on what state you live in.

Managed to score some second hand Intrax 4 ways with remote reservoir. Not only did this save me a ton of money but Intrax was original equipment on the GT4.

Ooh lovely! Perfect for the car
I'm currently about to push the button on 1k2 with ARC, no chance of finding any 2nd hand though here sadly.
I'm assuming your rears are a true coilover and not barrel/damper arrangement?
Good luck with the project!

Don't know found it in Germany. It's the Euroracing #1 chassis if that was yours?

Hi, Yes I had chassis number 1, used it for track days, went very well and it could have handled more power. Only sold it as I yearned for the GTR version, and had to scratch the itch!
The rear subframe bushes were solid aluminium IIRC when I purchased it. Hope you keep it LHD, unless you have to use it on the road. The shell is REALLY stiff with that cage in, you could tell when jacking up a corner, there was no noticeable twist. Great project and a rare car too!
