Z4MC or M3 e46 and Z4C
E46 M3 prices are very mileage sensitive.
Imo it’s not worth buying a low mileage E46 M3 at 20k if it’s your only car, because you will rack miles on it and subsequently decrease its value. You should only buy one of these if you treat it like a classic car (i.e put less than 5k on it per annum) in the hope of making a bit of money on it over the course of ownership.
Instead you can find a well sorted E46 M3 around the 70/80k mile mark with the big jobs done for half the price. Cars like these are less likely to cause you problems and you won’t be worried about losing money on it everytime you get behind the wheel.

Yeh roadsters in general I’m not keen on.... I prefer to have my hat on permanently... otherwise z4m r or even a z3m r would be in the running...mr wilks wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 9:04 am Have you ever driven a S54 Z roadster Shuey worth trying one out ideally with a Gruppe kit & id wager within a few miles the hackles on your back will be up & inane smile will be on your face

Yeh I hear ya about racking miles on a 20k car... hence my slight reluctance to buy a z4mc only... but anyway, all hypothetical at mo... so have a single z4m coupe is still favourite - until somet else comes along that can outdo that and in th budgetR60BBA wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 5:50 pm E46 M3 prices are very mileage sensitive.

Vert = convertible, get a hardtop and you have the best of both worlds
Just noticed you aren’t a lover of ‘verts’
M3 coupes are a lot cheaper than the convertible.
