Rare coupes
I know the coupe version of the Z3M is worth a lot more than the roadster and that on a like for like basis a Z4MC is worth a bit more than a Z4MR but do people think this will continue as per the Z3M ?
My thinking is as follows. On the plus side for the coupe is that the shape is more unusual as there were no small engined versions of the coupe so the shape makes it stand out. Also the coupe is seen as more 'hardcore' for the track and has a modicum of racecar pedigree.
On the other hand the Z4MC is no rarer than the Z4MR (592 v 614 produced) whereas the Z3M coupe was a lot rarer (165 v 997 according to wikipedia for RHD in Europe).
So in the long run do we think the coupe v roadster values will diverge as much as the Z3M values did ?

In a word ....no
I think whatever happens the z4mc will always be 30% higher than the roadster but canโt see the coupes getting to where the z3mc are in value .... but Iโm pretty confident that theyโre prices will hold firm and go up a bit as time goes on

The LHD/RHD can have quite an effect - mine is saying 1/33 in the world with RHD selected, but 1/109 irrespective of which hand drive it is, with red leather. It's 1/120 silver/grey metallic MRs worldwide.
Current... Silver Grey ///M Roadster, non-flimper spec, Imola Red nappa, permanent ear-to-ear grin
Previous... 3.0Si Sport Roadster, Black Sapphire, Dream Red leather with lots of toys and lots of mods...

Rare coupes
hello
I have grabbed all informations from online vin decoder and as you have probably noticed, none of them provide the country of origin
So these countries values i'm using are results of filters i'm applying on options related to each vin
RHD is the "easiest" as there are few markets.
I have also used "M registry" web site to check for some vins registered by their owners on specific countries
Looking at these vins options, i have tried to search for common extra options and end up with rules like
if RetailOverSea, EngineLowerQualityFuel, CarIdentityVisible, OnBoardEnglish, LanguageEnglish, KilometerSpeed
=> south africa
if RetailOverSea, RadioOceania, OnBoardEnglish, LanguageEnglish, KilometerSpeed,
=> New Zeland
...
As you can see those filters are "hand made" so i'm supposing it's the reason why you notice some differences between my site and the other one.
The only thing you can be sure of it's the total number as each category of vehicule has his own vin range number

The S54 Z3MR totals only 73 but the values are still lower than the Coupe.
I think over time the Z4MC prices will rise.

I'm sure a 2.8 version of the Z3 Coupe was sold in Europe - but sadly never in the UK.mad4slalom wrote: โMon Sep 03, 2018 9:57 pm Good points , i did see a 2.8 version of the z3 coupe for sale once , withouth twin tailpipes, was this called the orinoco ?
