Got my strut brace today ... needed a refurb . Got on rubbing it down and then just kept rubbing ! Ended up polished finish
I’ve replaced the bolts that hold it all down with new ones and small washers . Is there any issues with this ?
Also removed the exhaust heat shield and polished that up ... pleased with that !
Also fitted the gruppe M .... the blue silicone pipe bugs me a lot . Need to either get a new black piece or cover it in black electrical tape?
Anyway ... a good couple of hours spent in my book ( not my wife’s though )

Have you got the six collared nuts for the struts or just normal nuts.
If they are just normal nuts then I would be concerned.

No they are just nuts and washers ... that’s what I wasn’t sure on
Obviously have the old nuts , so could put those back on . Except one , as the recess on the strut bar end isn’t big enough to accommodate the flared standard nut

The nuts on top may have a longer section than standard that countersinks into the brace itself and are special to the brace. If you are re-using nuts this is worth a read about the issue with re-use and torquing

Yes appreciate that they are torque to yield nuts ... so really I need to know if the nut and washer set up is ok ?

I would suggest getting some of the correct collared nuts as there is a lot more thread on them, and they ensure the brace won’t move also.
