Z4MC Service History

Post by Neilson » Mon Aug 13, 2018 10:08 pm

Calling all experts...

How does this sound for a service history -

Pre Delivery Check - 24/08/06
Running in Check - 1,234 Miles 15/09/06
Oil Service - 3,339 Miles 20/11/06
Inspection 1/Micro Filter - 12,601 Miles 09/03/10 (This is the one I'm worried about as there's a gap of 3.4 years - any reason for concern?)
Oil Service/Micro Filter - 18,989 Miles 16/08/12
Oil Service - 27,589 Miles 27/09/13
Inspection 2/Micro Filter - 31,443 Miles 30/11/15
Oil Service - 33,086 Miles 24/03/17

All BMW main dealership servicing.
Oil Service and Micro Filter next?

Thanks all! ;)

Private sale or dealership & how many owner changes. I’d be ok given the mileage between services & provided brake fluid changed regularly.

If private, see what they have to say, as also learn how they have properly warmed engine up - some do sound like a bag of bones when starting, but mines quite quiet, has had lots of oil changes & the last owner since 16k was fastidious about properly warming the engine, so see how smooth & quiet it is from an ice cold start.

Full BMWSH will help u one day onsell, perfect cars don’t really exist so if it’s not been crashed or repaired suggest u seriously think about it

Thanks for the response! ;)
The car is from a dealership and its had 5 previous owners.
I've put a deposit down and the car comes with 6months warranty, so hopefully it all goes well! I was just a bit unsure on the gap there!

I would be happy with that too, if the rest checks out.

The car was possibly parked up for a few years, which is not ideal for any car. But it's been back up and doing a sensible few miles with regular services since then. :)

The next service will depend on the mileage you do.

It should be:

Running in service
Oil service
Inspection 1
Oil service
Inspection2
Oil service
Inspection1
Oil service

Etc etc.

Why the 2 oil services next to each other?

No idea why these 2 oil services are together. I'll put it through an inspection 1 when it's next due, just to be on the safe side!

Most likely down to it covering 8500 in 12 months so technically classed as a interim oil change to some owners  good to see imo & far from a negative point

Have you seen the service book itself? The date of the first oil service doesn't make sense.

Hi, the dealer sent the images of the service book with the stamps and what was carried out. Why doesn't it make sense?
Thanks
