Hodophobia!!
I flew from Dublin to East Midlands airport, took a bus, a train, and a car to get to my Z4 and then drove it across England and Wales to get a ferry home.
Totally worth it! Got exactly what I wanted rather than settling for crap examples that were closer.

Op ..... drive it to me if you’re confident in the car and I’ll buy it

I went from Ft William to Manchester for a lovely MX5, also sold said MX5 to a chap from London who flew up to Glasgow Airport, I drove down to him and he gave me a bag of cash before driving back to London in it. Lots of High Res photos and videos were exchanged first though.

sheesh I think the furthest I've travelled from my home town of leamington to buy cars are Stockport, Glastonbury and Norwich. perhaps if I bought something really specialised I'd travel further, but at that point I'd say you were committed to buying the car - no way I'd travel further if there was any chance I'd be driving home empty handed.

I live near Lincoln. New E89 bought recently from Cheltenham previous E85 bought from Alston in Cumbria. I have bought from all over the country over the years. Great fun and part of the pleasure of getting a new car. Often we have stayed for a few days if the car was located in a holiday area. Also have had some wasted journeys but that is par for the course.

Never realised you had roads in the NE of Scotland now. You got electricity too?

I have travelled to buy cars too, one BMW I bought in Germany, my Zed I bought in Oxford (I am in Kent), I suppose you are technically at the far reaches of the country, so therefore geographically restricting your numbers of potential buyers, but, if someone is interested they will travel

I sold my ZZR1400 to a guy who lived in the North of Scotland, sent him loads of photos, spoke to him on the phone for an hour and he was sold on it, 3 days later I picked him up from Bristol airport and he rode it home, great way for him to bond with the bike, by the time he got back he was a very happy guy, that was 6 years ago and still in touch with him, think its a case of do your research, speak to the guy and if you trust him go and see it what ever the distance if its the right car, it would be a brave or foolish person who would misrepresent the condition of his car to someone who's taken all the trouble to travel to see it.
