Exhaust fitment - North London / Essex / Herts

Hi

I've ordered a set of new backboxes, I am toying with going to the seller to get them fitted but the 400 mile drive is putting me off a little. Can anyone recommend somewhere in North London / Essex / Herts that would do a good job of fitting them? I was going to contact H&S but I'm not sure they fit any exhaust apart from their own...

I'd recommend CPC in Amersham, although may be a bit of a trot for you. They are a BMW specialist who really know their stuff, and almost exclusively work on M power cars from E30 M3s up to the latest stuff.

Any half competent local garage can do this. It's quite simple other than the usual rusted fasteners.

I'd check the state of your existing flanges, if they're a bit rusty (as were mine) then I'd buy this kit:

Just be sure to specify that you want the Z4M kit, which have the same gaskets (the M3 kit uses two different sized gaskets).

As above, any competent garage can fit exhausts for around £50-£60. You could probably do it yourself provided the clamps aren't too rusty. However I found that after I got mine back from the garage, the exhausts sagged quite a bit and weren't as even as I'd like.

Using the tips in this thread: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=484468, I changed the orientation of the clamps and after a bit of fettling, got them in my desired position.

Probably too far for you but Zero Exhausts in Ashford, Kent I can highly recommend. They replaced my flanges and refitted the system when one snapped off on my old Z4MC after hitting pothole in Clapham.

Many thanks all, i'll start getting on the phone on Monday. I've still got a couple of weeks before they arrive so hopefully I can get them fitted before the weather takes a turn...
