08 M coupe value?

Post by mpm » Tue Apr 10, 2018 6:57 am

So I’m potentially looking to sell my Z4m coupe to get something more practical.

Spec wise

It’s an 08 M coupe, full service history, either BMW dealer or specialist. Last serviced in October. MOT until Nov. No advisories.
Oil change done in Nov, inspection 2 done year before.
56k miles
I believe I’m owner 6 or 7.
It’s silver grey with red leather, both paint and interior are immaculate. Standard wheels could do with a refurb, but tyres are good!

The car came very well specced from factory with the following -
Folding mirrors
Tinted windows
Heated seats
Nav
Professional stereo
Bluetooth
iPod connection
Steeeing wheel controls
Cruise control
Cup holders
Storage nets
Rear parking sensors

It has a few tasteful modifications, which can be kept or taken off depending on the price.
Eventuri
KW variant 3 coilovers - as comfy as standard suspension, but more compliant.
BCS Powervalve Exhaust
Vibra technic engine mounts - not noticeable in terms of comfort but tighten things up at front
Upgraded front pads
HEL braided lines all round
Recent 4 wheel geo in December, which was £120 to ensure all was ok.

I was thinking of around £24k as it sits, or taking off the Eventuri, Exhaust and coilovers, and looking for £22k.

Feedback would be great, as I’m not sure if it’s even the right move to sell, as I enjoy the car so much.

Hi,

Sounds like you have a very nice car!
Sent you a PM as I’m interested in some of the parts you used to modify the car.

Thanks,
A

PS good luck with the sale if you decide to go ahead!

I think really your closer to £20k for private sale with all bits removed.

I would also bring the car back to completely OEM spec and sell the bits separately, i think you'll get more money back for it this way.
The Mods (even the small ones you plan to leave on) will put 90% of your buyers off as they are looking for perfect OEM examples.

The reason for my price is this car is £22k at a dealer with a warranty before negotiation.

Yours sounds like a nice car though and it will sell fast if priced right.

I’d be sticking at £23-£25k with or without your mods, they don’t seem to add any value, maybe just more appealing to certain buyers.

If your service history is spot on and condition is as good as you say then it’s worth holding out for top ask. So many cars I looked at hadn’t followed the correct service pattern which could be a reason certain cars hang around on the market a lot longer than others.
