Sold my M

Hmm - had a Chimaera for a short while and have gone the other way . . .

Glorious noise, absolutely intoxicating but I found it an ownership challenge - felt a little kitcar in it's odd and idiosyncratic switchgear and operations, gearbox quite agricultural and the need to slide the roof section into the boot became a chore. Friendly and understanding mechanic needed if you're not DIY proficient. I felt like Tom Jones at volume wherever I drove it but the noise is definitely better for those outside then those in the TVR unless you're either accelerating or changing down - a journey on a steady throttle you'll find induces a tension headache. As a weekend fun sportscar it is special - good ownership club and lovely that it's home grown as well.
I think of my Z4MR as a modern and more reliable TVR . . .
Now Porsche flat 6 experience, 986S & 981S.
2006 Z4MR Imola Red/Imola Red, 2008 3.0si Sport Stratus Grey/Piano black, 2006 2.0I Sport Silver Grey Facelift. MX5, TVR Chimaera, many motorbikes.

I have owned a few different types of TVR over the last 18 years and the only time that I had to rely on a Breakdown Service, was due to the poor maintenance of the Highways!

The dreaded pot hole struck me down (wrecked tyre) in the depths of Mid Winter, need I say more.

Was it Walkers it went to? If so I think it's the one I'm picking up Friday! Would be good to know it was previously owned by a member

Certainly will thanks. Knew it would be sound buy being from Walkers. That was an expensive trip to pick up my 2.0i. Hadn't even made it onto Andy's website. I was lost as soon as I drove it. Lucky for me. Not so much for my bank manager!

Its a great car. I was in on Tuesday picking up my 530d and saw it sitting in the showroom. Won't pretend I didn't have second thoughts!
Enjoy it, and I hope you put more miles on it than I did in the time I owned it.

It's cerainly been well cated for. Amazing condition. I drive my current one as often as poss (6k miles at least a year) and judging by how many thrills I'll get from the new one I expect I'll beat that. Have e healthy daily drive to work so I can't wait to start. I might actually look forward to the commute now.
