Yep. Now got a Cayman with 8k miles on the clock and brand new, 20" P Zero tyres for free. I only noticed when I was shining them up after the stuff that Porsche used to tart it up on collection wore off.

Didn't start well though. I rang Pirelli customer services and said "My tyres are cracking.!!" They said "Thanks for the positive review..!!".... :tumbleweed:

Terrible joke but definitely a stroke of luck

There must be a known issue for them to be exchanged so freely but at the end of the day it's the best outcome for everyone to get them off and returned to the manufacturer. :driving:
Common issue with the N0 tyre that was factory spec on 981 Caymans. Customer service from Pirelli was epic.

Hopefully a bit more front end grip might appear as well.
I’m in the same boat. My fronts are 2007 but have a bag of tread.

I’ve ordered some PS4s - can’t wait to get right of the tramlining and actually enjoy the car without having to wrestle the steering wheel.

Bants.

Tbh the P Zero is a really good tyre and gets a lot of undeserved stick. The only issue is that they wear pretty quickly..

Doesn't bother me if they are soft. I will only do 3k miles a year so they should get me 2 or 3 years I would expect, even with some spirited driving. The cracked tyres had about 6mm of tread left after 8k miles so they can't be that bad.

On a low mileage car, I would replace when the rubber starts to show signs of cracking.crazing as per the PZero in pic..

Michelin says that a tyre must be replaced when reaching 10 years if not worn out by use. I wouldn't wait so long personally, like most of us here but I can imagine a lot of car owners don't really care, as long as the threads depth is legal.
