No air bags and with the roof on glad my back and knee are recovering :)

Its bloody loud and great fun to drive. Not as outright fast but more fun at a lower speed.

Looking forward to being able to do more work on it as well as was always a little bit wary on the Z4M.

Will tag on the back of a few runs soon. If its already in bits the Saxo will return !!!!!
Good to see you got one, mate.
Nice and colourful.
Look forward to seeing it in the flesh at the upcoming meets, and catch up with you soon. :driving:

That looks great fun, what engine is in it?
I think I’d have gone for something with a little more crash protection too! My Westfield has seen track use only for a few years now after a few too many close calls from inattentive people in MPVs on the road. Mine is BRG though, not bright orange, so it’s a bit harder to spot!

I was thinking that, you are so low to the ground it must be harder to see than motorbikes.

There isn’t much bodywork presented to oncoming vehicles - just two front tyres, the perimeter of the nose cone, the leading edges of the wings and the windscreen surround (if there is one). Even in orange, there’s not much to spot in the mirror or approaching around a bend....

I put a yellow nose cone on mine and drive with the headlights on.

Watch traffic pulling onto roundabouts - they see you (I've often made eye contact with the driver) but have no concept of the speed you can carry round it and just pull out.

Car is great fun. Being so low really accentuates every sensation.

Not too much metal but I drive with the lights on such as they are!

Got to live your life and not worry too much about what can go wrong or you would do nothing. Speaking of things going wrong, had an engine failure already!!

Just spent the weekend swapping it out. Wanted to get a bit more involved with the spannering but not in the first week!

Replacement engine all ready to go back in tomorrow but had to cut the crankcase to mirror the first engine (2.0 Zetec from an ST170) so it will fit. :D

That was probably a bit more than you were planning, but it sounds like you are enjoying it anyway!

Is the new engine a Zetec too? They’re very tuneable...

Oh yes a straight swap taking all the "special / modded" parts off and onto another ST170 Zetec.

Next stage would be ITB and new ecu. Currently runs the std ecu so a bit of reading and getting used to the car before that happens.

Sounds quick... I hanker for an R1-engined Westie or one with the F20C from an S2000.

My 2006 R1 will do over 100 in 1st gear so if you can build one and keep the weight down it would be a very fast car.

I looked at a few bike engined Westies but you have to be on it the whole time. Fine for a track car but not for a fast road in my opinion. The additional weight of the car over a bike means you need to keep it pinned which is very tiring.

The S2000 engine is in quite a lot of the new FW Westies and is meant to be amazing but the cost was too much for me.

Was a lovely one for sale in the past month but £23k!!

Hi Stuart. The bike engine cars acceleration is amazing. The bike must be other worldly. I cannot ever have a go as would want one and going with the current arrangement with my partner I would have to move out!!! :D
