Maybe you have manual seats or/and no satnav?

ive read so many differing views, some say no driver 1390 , others just put 1480kg... but looking at some of the results here its very possible for this car to be sub 1400 .

Is it possible that people are mixing up two different European standards for measuring the weight of vehicles?

As an example, in Alpina's supplementary vehicle information manual it gives the weight of the RS as

1320kg DIN / 1395kg EU

DIN = vehicle with with 90% fuel, no driver, no luggage
EU = vehicle with 90% fuel, driver of 68kg and 7kg of luggage (giving the 75kg difference)

and, just to confuse matters further, I understand that the US have different standards for this so US-quoted curb weights will be different from those quoted for the European markets

Leccy seats and sat nav here, few mods but I'd only expect to have dropped 20kg max?

I'd say just over 1400 in that case for a standard car?

That makes makes your ///MR 10kg lighter than my ///MC which is the weight difference stated by BMW IIRC.

1395kg without a driver seems very light RedUn - how has yours been modified? With light weight back boxes and CSLs, mine came in at 1450kg without a driver.

I don’t think manual seats are much lighter. Wish I’d weighed both when I had them side by side! Can’t have been more than 3-4kg per seat and it’s weight that sits low in the car too.

The S54 is such a lump. The quoted weight of the ///M and the 3.0si are 100kg apart and nearly all of that is an engine sitting not-as-far-back-as-they-could-have-put-it-with-a-bit-more-effort.

An awesome lump, mind. :driving:

True, to add I think the supposedly heavy M back boxes.
As for the el. seats, I think I’ve read 10kg’s extra somewhere, but considering 3 motors and some buttons/wires it does sound a bit much.

dual backbox, larger front/rear brake discs, bigger diff (210 vs 188) and numerous small things like larger cv joints, added oil cooler etc etc.
But the bulk is the engine

the exhaust system on the ///M is absolutely ridiculously heavy, and i mean seriously heavy the back boxes alone were like 20kg easily EACH... having removed it and handled it numerous times i could not believe the weight of it... All together with the cats this is a 65kg system, i saved a monster amount of weight in this area, my RPI ( which i hate btw) cam in at like 4kg each , cat section 6kg .

i really want to weight the car i wonder if i take it to the tip they will tell me the number on the bridge they use for the trucks.....

As mentioned before, mine is 1483kg as above.

Worth a try, but it only costs £10-£15 to get a car weighed at a proper weigh bridge. You might have some luck using this: https://www.gov.uk/find-weighbridge

I know it is strange, it was done on proper corner weighting scales so I know it's accurate?

I've got very similar mods to you, plus brakes all round and decats, I'm assuming they are worth 10kg all in?

I can't think of anything else that would have dropped so much weight out?

I'll post a picture of the corner weighting later in case I can't see the wood for the trees :|
