The cars in that video are all modded as far as I can tell. So like for like. The sx was the drifters favourite for a reason. Not sure what that reason was. But It was the car I wanted to own when I was first into cars. Never hankered after any German cars. Then I drove the MR and enjoyed the test drive so much I bought one. MR apart I still prefer Japanese and Fords all day long though.

Hard to think why on earth you’d want to drive a boggo Z4C if you had an M3

I know but I love the look of Z4 Coupes, and also how it feels sitting inside. Compared to sitting in an M3 - which just feels like an ordinary car. And yes I know - it's not about just sitting, but the driving experience, but realistically I won't be flooring it as daily driver.InterlagosZ4MR wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 6:55 pm Hard to think why on earth you’d want to drive a boggo Z4C if you had an M3
If I bought an M3 - it would only come out when I'm heading to some epic roads. Z4C as a daily.

Then get a Z4MC as a do it all. Or something that looks and drives better like a 911. FWIW I have a Z4MR as a sunny day car and the main thing I like about it is taking the roof off. The dynamics are pretty rubbish and there are plenty better drivers cars and many that are far better looking. As a hard top I’m not sure what it would give you as a weekend car. I have an M140i as a daily - pig ugly but far faster and better dynamically than the Z and I far prefer driving that, except when the sun is out.shuey wrote: ↑Fri Oct 19, 2018 1:09 amI know but I love the look of Z4 Coupes, and also how it feels sitting inside. I love driving my M roadster but I would offer a word of caution if my daily commute spent a lot of time in slow moving traffic - they can be very clunky and not particularly nice. I recently drove a Boxster S and the gearbox was far more palatable so a non M Coupe would be more suited as a daily.

I bought a second car - a high mileage golf mk6 1.4 TSI - recently. Mainly so my wife and I could start sharing the driving (she’s a noob) and I’d have something to pile the miles on while building a house.
I didn’t think about the the additional enjoyment it would bring to driving the ///M. It’s just fantastic now - feels super, super special after the competent but bland golf, and the golf provides the practicality plus a much more relaxing and economical drive when I want it. So, in your situation, I think I’d actually take a 3.0si plus something boring but capable (£7.5k budget?) vs the Z4MC on its own.

2008 Z4MC: heavy wheels | crap suspension | skittish rear end | wobbly engine | not enough induction noise | underwhelming turn in | inconsistent braking | lardy battery | chubby steering wheel

Yeh the unfortunate thing is I dont think there's much in the category I'm looking in...
Hard top coupe, faster than what I have now, and looks unique or rare.
911's in my budget - I think they still have the egg lights with the sh***y interior from the 90s - which I hate.
Cayman S - I like, but I think the interior doesn't look as cool as e86.
370z - over designed.
M3 e92's are getting cheap - but big V8 - fuel etc, not to keen on
M6 - even worse fuel - getting really cheap and rare
Lotus elise - I think second hand ones are overpriced and - a bit too bare
Hence the Z4MC - but I know it can be a bit of dog as a daily driver...
I'm not very picky really

Not to fussed, about the economy side of things, I want the performance - which is why I was toying with M3 e46 in addition to my Z4C. Maybe actually a Cayman S (they getting cheap) and keep the Z4C... hmm, that maybe an idea.
But its no M car!

An everyday car that’s great fun , fast , sounds awesome and is practical..... hands down a e92 m3 . Ticks all box’s and they are the pic of the M bunch at the moment with some good bargains to be had
