Z4M new front brakes - Options?
Seems Lemans has finished off my front brakes. I have had a look and can get front pads and discs for £413, but it's Pagid discs and ATE pads.
My understanding is I need all ATE for OEM?
Otherwise is there an option to upgrade them that isn't much more? I suppose a brake kit is going to be £1000's, and I won't get much back for OEM on ebay...
For info, they holes are 'weaping' and I'm getting heavy vibration from any kind of braking. I could try the old Italian tune up and see how it goes. But I think they're done. Rears were done last year for MOT, so don't need doing.

Your cheapest (£1100) upgrade to the fronts will be K-Sport or D2 for 6-8 pot caliper with 356mm discs (about £200 more for floating & £200 more for upgraded pads).
Expect a few weeks wait though.

Humm, pricey. I don't track it or anything, so seems excessive. I was wondering if there was maybe a middle ground like 135i calipers I've seen people do.
I was thinking when I do the brakes, I'd go braided hoses and new fluid for the sake of it.

ATE discs and upgraded pads for about £450. OEM pads fade badly under heavy braking after a short while anyway, worth upgrading, especially if you enjoy "spirited driving"

I believe the 135i kit can be £1300-1500 if everything is new. That would be the conversion kit with hoses, calipers, pads and disks

Ok, all seems too much money for me! Are Pagid's OK though? Or worth the extra and get ATE?

Ahem - I'm selling oem discs at the moment!
I've done the 135i/bmw performance brakes - theyre great but uprated pads start getting pricey - ferodo ds2500s are 200quid for a set of fronts!
Be aware that if you intend to fit these calipers they do not fit under the OEM M224 alloys without 10mm spacers - the front face of the caliper fouls on the rear face of the spokes.

So you are Ed! I couldn't find any earlier. Let me double check mine tonight, but I may take you up. I'd then just get ATE pads for £45 or some after market. Any recommendations?

Personally I would get the discs from BMW unless you fancy paying more elsewhere.
I enquired a month or two ago. Including vat and delivery discs were
34.11.2.282.445 - £126.76
34.11.2.282.446 - £126.76
If you choose in future to fit the 135i calipers the brackets are designed to work with our (csl) disk size.

No problem - just so you're aware I'm about to head off on hols from 21st June to 11th July - I'll obviously struggle to sort collection or postage when I'm away
Bradz both the si and the M need 5mms spacers minimum to clear - I forgot I'd had the 5s fitted first..! 10mm spacers look better though

No brainer, just do what Tom suggested, brand new genuine from BMW. Used to be you could get the discs cheaper from elsewhere but for some reason BM have dropped the price massively so I doubt you'll do better. Might be a specific dealer though so worth asking where from, probably with forum discount, Sopers I'm guessing?
As for pads, loads to choose from, Performance Friction Z's have been good on mine and a nice upgrade, but all depends what your after. I wouldn't cheap out on them too much though!

I'll just add here that based on the fact I seemingly got stiffed by the dealers for my brand new genuine oem bmw discs there is obviously some negotiation on the stated price in my thread...
