FS: 2 x Front Alpina/Eibach Roadster Springs

Post by Gee » Sat Aug 13, 2011 3:29 pm

I've recently changed the springs on my car to Eibach's so I now have these for sale. The springs are in good condition but I suspect they have been on the car since new due to the 47/03 marking which must represent Week 47, 2003?? Looking at them I can't believe they would have been on since new but if they have been they have covered 70,000 miles. The springs still have the black coating on them but if you look at the pics there is a bit of bubbling/rust coming through. They are still perfectly useable.

Drop wise I would say these are in line with the BMW M Sport springs and certainly not as low as the Eibach Pro Kit springs that I have on at the moment. I believe these will be compatible with the 6 pot 2.5 and 3.0 models too but please carry out your own checks on this. Here's some pics.

Hello

I too have an alpina roadster. I am guessing you must have got the eibach pros. How does the car handle on them? I was going to get eibach pros for mine but ended up opting for gaz coilovers because eibachs didn't do springs for the front axle load.

Hi there,

The car handles absolutely fine on the Eibach Pro Kit but I don't push the car hard at all. When I ordered them from MSW they asked me for the front and rear axle weights and they confirmed that all was well for the kit. Most of the suspension parts are interchangeable with the "normal" Z4's as far as I know so I'm not sure why you were told Eibach didn't do springs for the S.

thanks for your reply. I looked up the axle loads in the alpina hand book and they were different to the standard z.

I think its because of the iron block used. Anyway, after some hmming and erring I opted for Gaz coilovers.

But its good to know the handling is unaffected with regular eibach pro kit.

Good luck with your sale.
