Z4M STEERING WHEEL

£120 is very, very cheap - even though that one on Ebay a few days ago was tatty, it was a crazy price.

Usual price is £250 to £350 but you do get the odd bargain every so often.

Z4M STEERING WHEEL

If you're looking to custom it (and hence get rid of the standard ///M coloured stitching?) you're probably better looking for the standard M-Sport wheel rather than the Z4M wheel - they come up for sale far more often and for a chunk less money.

Good luck - would be great to see a picture of your finished wheel :driving:

Z4M / SPORT STEERING WHEEL

Post by Timmyboybunter » Thu Apr 09, 2020 1:33 pm

I'm not actually sure.

My laymans terms knowledge is:

- standard (i.e. skinny) wheel, also referred so as 'SE' - which can be found with and without buttons
- 'Sport' version which has a thicker rim, again available with and without buttons
- Z4M version which I've always assumed is the same thickness as the 'Sport' version, but has tri-colour stitching around the rim. Same again with buttons

I'm sure someone will clear that up though :driving:

as far as i know, they are identical. The difference is that the z4m Steering wheel has stitches in colour (red blue bluee) vs black stiches of a normal m steering wheel from a normal z4...

Z4M / SPORT STEERING WHEEL

Post by Timmyboybunter » Fri Apr 10, 2020 4:50 pm

Not possible - without a load of custom wiring so the airbag would work etc. Would cost a small fortune.

E46 wheel will fit, from memory there is some coding required, think there's a thread on here somewhere.

If the OP is upgrading it anyway with new material, makes sense just to buy a cheap standard wheel doesn't it? Thickness of a sport wheel can then be added etc.
