How much did it not fit?
As I mentioned previously, even though the Crossland one looked on the bench exactly the same as the Mann one I took out, it would not go in the last 10mm or so. I trimmed off the top fold of the filter and a smidge off either side support bits and it slid in fine. Not ideal, but it cannot move or fall apart in there and it will do until the Mann one I order next time round.

Does seem odd that you say they are exactly the same size but you had to trim 10mm from the Crosland . If my Zed wasn't Sorn'd & wrapped up in the garage I'd be very tempted to remove my newly fitted Mann filter just to try the Crosland. Something doesn't make senseenuff_zed wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 9:42 amHow much did it not fit?

Can only assume something in the construction differs, allowing the Mann one to push in that little bit tighter?
Anyway, I've bodged it for now, but I don't think it's a huge issue. Not the most vital part overall, and now I know how easy it is I'll look out for offers on Mann ones and swap it out later.

Indeed! Seems like it needs a side by side comparison!

It was at least 25mm down one edge & 15mm down the other.enuff_zed wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 9:42 amHow much did it not fit?

Now, I'm not trying to treat you like an idiot, but did you have it the right way around? I thought mine was sliding in easily, only to find I'd got it 90 degrees out. I don't think it is quite square.

As per my earlier post the size is W247 x L233 x D33mm (I've measured the Crosland but not the Mann). The Mann website states the same size: https://catalog.mann-filter.com/EU/eng/ ... CUK%202339
All very odd eh

And I even refitted the old Mann one, just to prove to myself that it had in fact come out of that hole and that there was no debris still blocking it.

Didn’t even try fitting it, it was obvious comparing the old to the new it wasn’t going in. At least it was only £1.50.enuff_zed wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 10:52 amThat's a lot more than mine was?Bombardino wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 10:50 amIt was at least 25mm down one edge & 15mm down the other.enuff_zed wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 9:42 am How much did it not fit?
