Mr wilks, I wouldn’t compare my Z3MR with my Z4MC
That was my point , a strutbrace may be a necessity on a Z3MR roadster & noticeable to the driver if the car is without , not the case with Z4MR

I can’t challenge if there is a difference on the Z4 as I’ve not tried one with a brace fitted

I gave my honest opinion as requested.

With regard to apples and oranges, it’s just a strut brace that performs a function, no special materials etc. Would it add value to a car because it’s OEM ?

At the end of the day it’s yours to offer for sale at whatever price you see fit
I get that you would like to get back somewhere near what you paid for it.

Mr wilks, check the rising Z3 prices, so can’t be all that bad :P
Everything evolves with technology, I wouldn’t compare my Z3MR with my Z4MC
My reply sounded entirely more abrupt than intended, so apologies if it seemed a bit blunt! Your opinion is that the part itself is a little dear, which I get, but it seems the pricing for this particular item is pretty in keeping with precedent.

OEM BMW Z4M Strut Brace

pretty certain whether we like it or not this item will make the money.... its NLA , very rare and is z4m specific OEM product. If your willing to ship it to the states drop it on zpost as they basically have a waiting list for these coming up for sale. As soon as an item becomes NLA its value shoots up, supply and demand rules apply.

Any suggestions on a reasonably cost effective way to post to the states? I tend to steer clear of posting anything significant too far afield following a couple of bad experiences.

I looked in to braces when I was considering one and decided not to for various reasons. Apparently the oem item has a calibrated deformable section (actually a notch) which will give and sacrifice the brace in a collision, rather than transferring the impact force to the other strut tower as well. This can be the difference between a repairable knock and a write-off, or making a crash survivable as non-deformable braces interfere with crumple zones. One reason why insurance companies load premiums for a brace and why an OEM item might be worth the extra loot

Would this brace fit a standard 2004 E85 or does it only fit an M?
