Recaro CS Seats - Go on its Christmas

Post by Filkcs » Thu Dec 13, 2018 11:04 am

Hello All,

I have decided to go a different route after being set on Recaro CS seats for the year, I got hold of an immaculate set and then came across a different set I want.

The seats are gorgeous, they are the airbag variant (not that I was looking for it or I would of connected them) and they are NOT heated - however I know of a company that would of fitted heat pads for me for £120 a seat including the heat pads.

The rails on them - They are from an Audi, I have not investigated a great deal as I was going to buy specific rails for the z4, HOWEVER id say these will sit way too high on these rails. You could potentially cut and fabricate the rails but I cant say for certain. Best bet would be to use your existing rails and have a fabrication shop create a plate and weld to the bottom.
In essence you are buying the seats not the rails.

Any questions please ask, I am in no rush to sell them as such and I would like what I paid for them - £1450.

Thanks,
Phil

Nice one can’t go wrong with the CS sportsters. They look good in everything. Looking forward to see you working magic on the Sport Seats though

Just an update, the rails are being adapted by myself to fit in the Z4 - HOWEVER, this is done by cutting and welding so they are lower, and welding location tabs on as the rails are around 40mm thinner than standard so they will be in no way 'Showroom' condition.

For the people PM'ing me, please all write on this thread, keeps everything public so I don't need to answer questions 3 or 4 times.

Thanks

Interested. Do you think these can be made to sit a couple of inches lower than the standard M sport seats? I've always felt mine are just a bit too high for my liking.

Hi mate,
In all honesty...……...no. Reason being, the M Sport seats actually dip below the rail, hence the wider rail diameter. I am aiming to get these to be as low as the msport but can 100% say they wont be lower than these.

I am trying to keep these seats as OEM as i possibly can so having to modify and move the height adjustment on the drivers seat, i cannot confirm if this will work at the moment.
The passenger seat doesnt have a height adjustment on these seat rails so wont have height adjustment but can confirm these will sit as low as the M Sport seats, if the user who fits them needs them higher, it would be done by creating a spacer so not ideal, but atleast that way there is no fabrication needed where as if they wanted to lower them from the height they are now, there would be.

Thanks,
Phil

Thanks for the info. Lovely seats GLWTS.

From what I can tell there appears to be a 3-inch clearance from the bottom of the lowest setting on the sports seats and the carpet...wondering if anyone has fabricated the settings to drop that further?
