I want to try and steal the plastic bracket that holds the rear plate off the back so I can weld it onto my headlight

Are you sure the broken lug is not the one for which BMW sell a repair kit?

e.g. item 13 below:

Speak to JINGLE, he's got a few headlights in pieces. I believe one set was in poor condition so is being used for parts...

Before I get home and have a chance to check, are you sure it’s letting in moisture? When I had all mine cut open and apart checking over all the fixing lugs etc and noticed 1 of mine was broken, when the metal clip (part 6 in the above drawing) it holds it pretty tight and square so may be worth giving the seal a good clean and hopefully that will help

Deffo leaking from somewhere, that’s the only place o can think it’s coming in from as I’ve had the bumper off and stuck silicon all around the lamp as well as a bit of sealer around the lip of the seal.

I’d bought a replacement rear cover thinking that would solve it, such a pain in the backside haha

I have a spare driver side facelift headlight with intact bracket. It is, or rather was, a black internal style xenon, but has been plundered for parts.

I would like to remove and keep the lens and the clear indicator hockey-stick, but you’d be welcome to the bare case if it’s of use to you.

How urgently do you need it? I could probably get the bits I want off of it at the weekend, then send you the case next week if you cover the postage cost.

Ilogik, I have a drivers side & passenger side you're welcome to. If you wanted I can cut off the bit(s) you want with some excess so it's easier to send... or you're welcome to collect as is from Cambridge CB22. Free of course, they were in my "To take to the dump" bin

Drivers side headlight casing (can be smashed)

Hi both sorry for late reply. If you could cut me a chunk off Iamorion I’ll ask my body shop if they can plastic weld it back on.

Ermintor, no real rush and yeh if I could just get the plasti bit of the welding fails I might see if my body shop can split both lights, paint the internals black and then glue it back. But that would be w far bigger job :).

Quite like the idea of black insides on mine.
