3D Printed Console Screw Covers

Post by IAmOrion » Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:20 pm

These sometimes crop up with people looking for some... BMW charge around £15 per cover :o

Anyways, I made these ages ago, but needed to print myself another couple just the other day, so thought I would re-offer some in case anyone wants some. They obv don't look as good as the original - as in they don't have a smooth finish, however you could sand (very gently & finely) to your needs or cover with something. I was thinking £12 posted (for 6) which basically covers my materials, print time & postage. Bear in mind, due to being 3D Printed, they are not as flexible as OEM ones. I got mine in no problem, but after putting it and and taking it out again around 7 or 8 times, it did snap. It's a little harder to get out than it is in.

Not here to earn my fortune, so if no takers, no problem, just needed some myself and thought I'd offer some up to help others if anyone wants some.

Pics below. If you own a 3D Printer already, you can download my .STL file here: https://mega.nz/#!ZOgAmAhB!M-HbOruE3uF- ... 02CVH7Qz8s

Might be hard to tell from the picture in my car, but it IS flush, but I simply don't have the time to put into post-processing. The nature of 3D Printing means it will have lines in due to FDM.

Nice work!

If you don't mind, what settings/material (PLA?) do you use?
