ADV.1 ADV5 wheels for sale

pcube wrote: Mon Mar 12, 2018 5:55 pm I expected that it would be difficult to sell the set of wheels because they were so expensive to begin with. What I did NOT expect, especially on this forum, was people coming in and pissing on my thread without even understanding what it is I'm selling.

Now it's not like I bought this cheap and trying to flip it to make a quick buck off the folks on the forum. Work in the shipping costs and I'm effectively losing more than £2000. This amount may or may not be significant to you, but I think my asking price is fair so I don't see why I deserve the sarcastic comments?

I am more than happy to answer genuine queries about the wheels. If you have snide remarks to make, I would appreciate that you please keep them to yourself though.
I fail to see how the comment, loosing 2000 pounds is of any relevance.
You don’t expect a set of second hand wheels, with at least one needing a refurbishment, to be worth what you paid for them.
As has been pointed out, more details may help your sale:
I wish you well with your sale.
E89 s drive 30i manual/gone
space grey
Carbon interior trim
19" Veeman FS 25`s
cruise control
m sport seats
stubby
led halo bulbs
z4 forum sticker, for added power.
OEM wind deflector
Gone, E85 Ruby Black.

With what :? Someone selling a item on a forum where its free to advertise & as pointed out endless times by the mods free to offer comment if members so desire :?
There are alternative sites to sell stuff where there won't be comments
Ive always enjoyed reading this forum, including all sorts of stuff for sale that I either can’t afford, not to my taste or don’t have knowledge of in general. But for some reason, over the last year I’ve noticed I have to trawl through more posts of little value that aren’t ‘banter’ but just snide. It just seems a shame as it makes the place feel far less friendly and inclusive than it once was.

Not saying it doesn't happen as it clearly does but id like to think across the board there are as many positive comments on sale threads as there are negatives ?
Negative comments can also help a sale as over time it brings posts back to the attention of the general forum who may have missed them
To be blunt RE this particular one , attempting to float a £3k+ set of alloys with a blase advert was never going to end well :(

Surely you of all people on here would know why these cost so much.
To compare to them to genuine CSL wheels for instance is laughable, they're playing on an entirely different pitch.
To those that think 5k is expensive for wheels, well yes it might be compared to what you are used to you but I guess you want to be sticking pencils in your eyes when you see the price of carbon wheels. If you can't afford it, shut up.
GLTWS again.
If they were 18's I might well have been interested :(

So enlighten the masses as to exactly why they should be throwing 3+ X the £ cost of a set of CSLs (which i used purely for a yardstick ,
i certainly don't rate them over any other OE Bmw wheel )

well yes perhaps the op might have given the whole drivel from the manufactures site about the wheels, shame on him!
Or he could expect that someone genuinely interested in a 3k set of wheels might do their own research.
As he said, not for everybody

Why do you care what someone puts in their for sale advert? Just leave it be - if they don't sell they don't sell!
They're a specialist wheel that is only going to be of interest to someone who knows what they're looking at - any extra blurb is pointless, they're a speciality item and will only sell to someone in the know. I've bought whole cars with worse adverts....

Anyway, I'm backing out now as I'm becoming one of you thread de-railers!

At what ?
Check the last 100 sale threads out , I've commented on 5 or 6 of them & non are negative towards the item or seller so perhaps you should do your homework before getting a strop on .
& since you started what's with the exclamation marks ?

To be fair to Mr Wilks forum friends.

The guy is selling a very pricy set of wheels. By no way are they the norm. They aren’t CSLs or CSL reps for a start  All Mr Wilks has said is that the advert could do with more information? And i have to agree. And by no means am i trying to bash this thread.

OP educate the masses tell us why the demand the premium. I love a forged 3 piece wheel. I just can’t afford them.
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!
