Wheels and tyres

Post by Phoenixboy » Sat Jan 13, 2018 3:26 pm

Would anybody more knowledgable have an idea what my wheels which I believe are 201 style would be worth?
They are in lovely condition with no scrapes, but tyres although still lots of tread are only budget ones.
Many thanks,

Good choice. The last couple of good sets with decent tyres went for about £550 so manageable close to your budget!

The wheels do look great but I assume it's the tyre age putting him off

If thats what 'you' assume

They havent seen too much tarmac since CSL's were put on the car. No cracking or nasty weathering. Plenty of life for the average user to be had :)

It is indeed, based on recommended tyre life and rubber degradation.

I wouldn't waste time getting upset about some random person on the internet's opinion. Best of luck getting them sold!

" If your wants are to high for means to supply then alter your wants " was my grandma's advice  op has mentioned a budget of £500 & a desire for a set of 224s :? if sets of 224s are being sold in good condition with fresh tyres for sub £600 where's the queue cause i'l get on the back of it  :P

Absolutely, OP isn't going to do much better for their budget, but when they state they're looking for decent tyres along with the wheels it's a fair reason to assume this is why they've turned down the very good offer of £600.

They'll be waiting a while for sure.

Let's not pollute OPs thread any further. I'm not in the business of upsetting people by commenting on their wares with an opinion so if that's what I've done feel free to drop me a message and we can discuss deleting these messages :)

Thanks for all your comments guys.
Greg81,no worries, always up for the banter.
Yes, am possibly expecting a lot, but I’m in no rush as I’ve said previously.
Yes the age of the tyres is a consideration, but ultimately it’s the first set that have been available since I made my decision, so feel no urgency to jump in.
They are nice wheels, but not so rare that another set are unlikely to become available.
If my budget proves to be unrealistic, then I will either change to another style or save more pennies and up my budget.
Happy days 😀
