Steering Wheel Trim & Buttons (Silver)

Post by idej_z4 » Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:37 pm

Not sure if these are of any interest to anyone. Silver steering wheel trim and buttons in good condition.

Only 1 of the small pins on the side bits are broken on either side, makes no difference as they're screwed in at the back.

Hard to know how to price these as I can't seem to find anywhere that sells them to compare. Am thinking £120 including postage - happy to be shot down if this is well over the mark. Basing the pricing on rarity in good condition as these trim pieces don't seem to age well.

Any questions, then please ask. Cheers.

Steering Wheel Trim & Buttons (Silver)

Post by Z4paul » Thu Mar 04, 2021 12:46 am

Hi, currently have a m sport wheel on my e85 but the plastic rubbery finish is wearing. The centre spoke on this is slightly different to mine / doesn't have the M on it but i prefer the silver finish. Do you think this would a like for like replacement? Pm if you wish

Hi
There are 7 or 8 different versions of these, black, black m sport, graphite grey, ones marked individual line, alpina (I think Number 5 Could confirm this), the chrome line ones here and a couple more. They are all interchangeable, one T20 torx screw either side and 2 holding the bottom piece, removal of the airbag is recommended, there is a post on the forum how to do this-colour & style just depends on the individual.

You've done very well to remove without breaking the clips!

Good luck with the sale

These came off an M Sport wheel, as per the image below. I had to trim a bit off the leather for the bottom piece to fit snug. Worked fine though.

If purchasing them you need to ensure you are replacing like for like on your current wheel or you have the connecting cable between the 2 switches.

Thanks for that. Seems this would need some fine tuning shall we say - read post elsewhere and member used a dremel to remove some of the plastic on the centre spoke.

Appreciate your input. My wheel certainly looks the same in terms of the switches/buttons on it. Busy at work next two days but will aim to post a pic and see what more experienced folk think
