PS. OP might consider doing it this way in order to keep the tidy OEM headunit but add the functionality of the SONY unit you already own

There was definitely an MD option on early E85s. It’s in the brochures. Like hen”s teeth now though.

I have seen a MD player for the E85 / 6 on ebay.

Look these up on ebay, and perhaps drop them a message.
They sold the last one I saw.

They have a load of E85 parts, despite the name.

Just a quick note. that a E85 radio with a Mini Disk player will also require the heads up display unit to be able to show the source/tracks etc

I would still be using mine, but I have lost my sonic stage installation CD!! :/

Would you be hooking up the CD changer to it aswell?

I still use my Sony DHC-MD373 for managing MDs, and with the Bluetooth connection you can swing Spotify material straight across as well. Haven't given any thought to the CD changer!
