It's ok to love your car, but not LOVE your car!davidpfitz wrote:And yeterday wasn't even a sunny day. I've found myself with a couple of days off work, so have been working like a madman on the Z. Have done a full outside/inside job and have now just come in from cleaning and impregnating (!) the lid.

Thanks ... I was pleased with the result and was easily worth the effort.kal wrote:nice
what kind of product ur using ?
i took it once to a place to polish it but i wasn't satisfied it wan't that good
mine is black so the rubbing is shown even when i wash the car i see lines going in circle
I took it to the local hand wash to get a basic clean before I got started. Then I clayed it using Meguiar's clay (which took up a massive amount of otherwise unseen dirt and grime. I then used Meguiar's Gold Class liquid wax which went on very easily. Left it to dry out, then took it off using a 12v polisher. I'm not sure if the polished made any difference to the finish, but it made it easier!
For the roof, I used the BMW soft top cleaner and impregnating agent.

Zaino is a brand - a very good one a that. I just used stuff cheaper this time as I had a free day off and neeed some product quickly - so I bought what was stocked locally.kal wrote:what about zino is it the same thing or different
do i have to use the polisher ?!!
You don't need the polisher. Makes life easier, but good old elbow grease will do the trick too. But, you can pick up the 12v ones for around £10 so they're worth getting. I'm sure you can spend much more and get something better, but that did the trick for me.
