My finished Z4 - Car & wheels painted with spacers fitted!

Post by dan yeates » Sat Jan 26, 2013 8:54 pm

Hi,

So, as some of you know, I bought my Z4 through the forum with slightly tatty paint as a result from a quick dealer blow over to hide stone chips. Unfortunately the bumper respray was really terrible, flaking off and rough in places. I've subsequently had the whole front end repainted by a fantastic local paint shop and just had the wheels refurbished by The Wheel Specialist - Bournemouth.

Machine Monkey suppled me with some superb new spacers and bolts which look great and give the car a great stance, it looks really great on the road now. I also had 4x new tyres fitted at the same time (still some paste on the tyres actually). I've given it a clean and wax ready for The Wheel Specialists Open Day today and managed to get some photos. The first two were taken by Rymer Automotive, the rest by me and my brother. The VX220 Turbo belongs to my brother.

Hope you like! :D

And yes, I know I need new centre caps!!! :P  :o

There are also some photos of The Wheel Specialist Open Day here, which attracted an exciting range of cars. http://www.flickr.com/photos/danyeates/ ... 614228755/ and a Facebook album here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 405&type=1

Cheers,

Dan

Nice pics there mate and the car is looking epic - super clean!

Were those pics in Sandbanks in Dorset? Properly expensive place to live and some very nice houses!

Thanks.

Yes it was mate. I used to live in Bournemouth, but now live in New Milton. Just meeting a friend at his grandparents house in Sandbanks and headed down to the hotel for lunch. It is a stunning place. We're lucky to have his grandparents house to park up at to walk to the beaches in the summer as it gets mega busy!

Your zed looks lovely Dan.

The Wheel Specialist has made a nice job of refurbing your alloys. I have dropped my 224,s off at the Wheel Specialst in Edinburgh, so have high expectations that the finish will look as good as yours.

Cheers, not bad for a 9 year old car with 99,000 miles on it!

I went for 15mm front and 20mm back, but I'm swapping them for 10mm front and 15mm back. Machine Monkey has been good enough to swap the 20mm for the 10mm spacers. :)

I'm sure they will. Their franchises are really well kitted out.

The first 2 photos were taken in their workshop

Yep lookin good there Dan and you are bang on it's the 10mm front 15mm rear spacers all day long for the E85.

I know many go for the 15/20 setup and it looks OK from some angles but it is just a little too far. The 10/15 setup will look good and maintains a refined dignity steering clear of the roller skate look favoured by the blue headlamped Corsa and Saxo brigade.

I think it looks great on the 20mm spacers :P once machinemonkey makes another batch, i'll be ordering a set of 15 front 20 rears.
