Thanks for the comments ,the bronze statue dates almost 100 years (ww1) & known as the lone soldier in the centre of Slaidburn & you have to pass it to exit or enter the road over Tatham Fell to Bentham .
As for the car
its prov sold but won't be leaving the forum so your father could put his name down for the next in line
