New Z4 launch event at Rybrook

Post by derin100 » Sun Mar 10, 2019 8:22 pm

My Alpina Roadster S on display with other previous Zed cars at the Rybrook day for the launch of the new Z4 held at Shrewsbury football stadium yesterday.

The E89 version was also on display but just not in this photo taken on my phone. Sadly, they didn't manage to get an E86.

My, first impressions of the new Z4 ? Visually not as striking as previous generations. Too big to feel like a sports car compared to previous generation. I wasn't inspired to hang around in the cold outside to have a drive Z4 M40i but it did look like it went like stink! :)

Just came back from the test drive of the 20i. Interiors a beaut, the exhaust notes are bang on correct and likewise with a turbo more lower end torque. But i prefer the e89 not a fan to be honest. Hella comfy tho

I agree. The E89 is a really good looking car. The E85/86 was a real design statement. The new Z4 doesn't have those essential elements for me but I'm sure it's a great drive. Unfortunately, it doesn't have that 'want' factor for me.

I popped into the local dealer today to have a look at one in the flesh. I agree the interior looks amazing, unique and really modern. However the exterior just didn’t quite do it for me, particularly the rear rend.

If I could take the best bits from each of those Zeds. Then left to right it would be.
