Dash Vibration at average speeds

Post by sjmv » Fri Dec 13, 2019 3:34 pm

Hi folks, I have a 2019 Z4 which has an annoying dash vibration at average speeds. Once on the motorway it seems to go away.

I haven’t had it investigated yet, I may just get my wife to drive it while I sit with my face pressed into the windscreen etc but I wanted to see if anyone else has has similar issues.

Cheers

Evening & welcome.

Typically we are a helpful lot though we do like pictures, lots of them for new members.

First thought is unbalanced wheels or worse case a buckled alloy - has Mrs sjmv borrowed it one evening, been overly sweet then had it valeted?

Considering it’s a brand new car & they’ve had a big chunk of your cash, I suggest you sit in the passenger seat & video the issue.... then take to dealership where should the service team come up with NFF, least then you have something to show.

Good luck

Welcome to the forum.

I don’t have the problem you describe with my G29 but I do have an annoying rattle from somewhere in the passenger area. I am putting it down to the seat belt buckle rattling against the door pillar when that seat belt isn’t fastened.

I need to investigate further but it’s not bothering me too much at present :)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I am not experiencing the problem you have with my G29. I think I would be taking it back to the dealers and let them investigate. Hope they get it sorted quickly

I have a similar rattle. I’m going to book it in for the dealer to sort. It sounds around the steering column or instrument pod

(get the wife to drive it) ??????? Isn't that a little drastic ?

Get it back to the dealer and take them out in it to prove it's there then get them to try and sort it.

The rattle around the steering column is now nearly constant - sound like screws in a tray !!
Joined by a cracking from the top of the dash at drivers side.
Also passengers window needs re aligned as not sealed correct into roof.
Still waiting on drivers door mirror replacement to arrive (faulty from collection).
I think the dealer will be busy with my car for a while and beginning to feel this is a bit of a Friday car.
Such a shame as it is an excellent car to drive - love the b58 engine :)

The dealers have been great so far - hence I will give them time to rectify ALL the issues.

If not, then I google how to reject a new car :(

Rejection has to be within 30 days (don't ask how I know......).

No such issues on 'our' (the wife's) G29.
