Button problems near I drive

Post by Bullyboy42 » Wed Feb 26, 2020 2:28 pm

Had a situation at the weekend where could not press the home or map buttons on the I drive area. It was as if the unit for better words had stuck down some how as pressing a few of the other buttons made it spring back. Not sure if I am describing it very well but has anyone else had similar ?

Thanks

I've not encountered that particular issue, although I've experienced a number of other intermittent iDrive related issues which were all software related bugs. I'm hoping the next software release due soon resolves them. I'm wondering if your problem is also software rather than hardware related?

No I believe hardware where it feels like the button you press gets stuck down. Will keep an eye on it.

Light spray around the buttons with GT85 and then wipe clean would be my suggestion.

Similar but smells nicer and has ptfe to act as a very light lubricant. WD40 is really just a Water Dispersant - actually the 40th formulation was the one they brought to market. Hence the name.

Didn´t have the problem so far but do think these buttons do not feel that nice, the feedback they give is indeed poor.
