That’s the bit that concerns me - I could sell my E89 an M40i for delivery in Spring 2022 then to be told thar it’s not available.
That’s the exact position I’m in, I’ve crystallised the value in my E89 and now await patiently to see when/if my M40 arrives!
I suspect from your username you are nine years younger than me - I’m now past my three score and ten!

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

We’re you given any estimate time Blaster…?
No they couldn’t give me any idea at all. Apparently the chip shortage is causing carnage, with many cars they had due to be delivered in September now being delayed indefinitely.

Seems like Sars jumped in right at the last minute then…

It’ll probably be ok Blaster, I’d imagine spring, they won’t want to lose face giving you a date just yet.

Ronk why not put an order in and wait, you won’t lose anything on your 35is between now and spring, then on the remote chance there are more delays you haven’t lost anything.

I would rather sell privately than it go to a dealer and I dont want the risk of having an E89 and a G29 in April

It’s still available guys. Carwow old offers happen and sometimes that message comes up. You can still spec a new one on bmw site so it’s still being manufactured and is continuing.
You can also spec a new one on carwow.

Mine arrives next month…….probably. ;)

You’d sell yours privately without any issue before you took delivery having been given a firm date though, you’d have at least two months Ronk, once a slot is confirmed really the only delay is waiting for them to get enough cars of one colour on order to make it worth them going to paint as the car is built in 24hrs.

Twist, get an order in, if it doesn’t happen you’ll get your deposit back and lose nothing. If you get a firm build date sell the 35is privately in plenty of time.

Worst case scenario is WBAC will buy it off you but that won’t happen, a last year 35is in mineral with plenty of toys and ultra low mileage is still a very very desirable car, and with 2nd hand car market as buoyant as it is with no end in sight you’ll sell for top dollar with no trouble at all.

Excellent…

Last thing, if you get cold feet then tell them to keep it, you lose a grand deposit, so what, you didn’t go to Germany this year so that’s a load you didn’t spend so thats taken care of. The dealer won’t care as they’d sell it that week, the one I rejected didn’t even go on sale as they had a buyer for it. No lose situation really apart from a grand if you chickend out last minute. :)
