Think you need the comfort pack.

Press and hold the unlock button while next to the car. The roof should come down.

You need to have the comfort access extra on your car. :driving:

Pretty sure the engine must be running also. And I think I read somewhere you need to be pretty close to the car, like under 6-10 feet?

So by the time you've done all that you may as well just get in and press the button. :D

engine does not need to be running, but you do need to be within 5Meters or something

Funny you should mention that,
I've just spotted a smarttop for the G29 on ebay

certainly not cheap.

Edit: bit cheaper here

Ouch that is not cheap, I would check the additional functionality that is gained from the module.

For the e89, it adds quite a bit such as folding mirrors / one touch roof operation / roof off the key fob and roof while on the move.

I purchased a used one for e89 at £140, may not be able to get that for a G29 as they are too new.

It’s also very important to be able to put the roof back up with the fob at a distance.

I have been caught out twice pre Smarttop days - the car was parked outside when the weather changed suddenly and the heavens opened !
Believe me, you like like a prize chump rushing out in a deluge putting the roof up . It’s surprising how long it takes ,,,,!
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.
